We’re over the moon at the response to the inaugural Mill Valley Music Festival! With a slate of phenomenal food, drink, art and kids’ activities – all to the benefit of our amazing community – the event was a smash hit.
But the centerpiece of any music festival is – you guessed it – the music itself. For the debut of MVMF, we sought to curate a lineup that sought to strike a balance between artists that represented the multi-cultural Bay Area, spanned a wide swatch of genres and opened some ears to music they might not have been exposed to before.
With a magical set from Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, an ultra-funky performance by Lettuce, stalwart psychedelic rock from Liz Cooper & the Stampede, a cumbia-centric La Doña representing San Francisco’s Mission district and a joyous, danceable show by Latin Grammy Award-winning Venezuelan disco-funk trio Los Amigos Invisibles – we think we did just that.
As we reflect on the success of MVMF and think about next steps, we welcome your thoughts on a lineup for a possible 2023.
LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS WHO YOU’D LIKE TO SEE PERFORM AT MVMF23, AND WHY!
