The 66th edition of the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival, one of the oldest art festivals in California, sought to infuse the landmark event with an infusion of excitement via the next generation, showing the evolution and the next generation that young artists and art lovers are bringing to this historic event.
On September 23 and 24th 135, artists from around the Bay Area and a record number of festival attendees gathered under the redwoods to celebrate the 66th year of the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival.
Artist booths lined the path of Old Mill Park featuring curated handmade paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, textiles and more.
The Festival had a lively atmosphere where new friends and old enjoyed live entertainment and local food and beverage. Bands like Jinx Jones and Dirty Cello got festival goers out of their seats and on the dance floor while the kiddos were delighted with puppet shows, stories, magic and more.
The Festival also featured the work of Emerging youth artists as well as neurodivergent artists from Marin. Daniel Oliver, Amy Faust, Cynthia Minoli, and Hilary Williams received Special Recognition awards for their outstanding work at the artist reception Saturday night.
Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival invites their community to provide their continued support by making a donation this long standing cherished event will return in 2024 and for years to come! Visit MVFAF.org for more information.
The musical selections by my good friend and musician/songwriter extraordinaire were excellent! Wonderful weather and great music were enjoyed by all!
Congrats to Phil Garratt, volunteer coordinator & to the entire staff of the festival and all of the volunteers. Often they are the unsung Heros of these events!
Oops I left off Dore Coller’s name as the man behind the curtain who chose this year’s musical offerings!
Why Phil Garrett wasn’t given credit in the Festival program for his work as Volunteer Coordinator is beyond me. The Festival could not happen without his dedication to recruiting and managing almost 200 volunteers that assured the Festival of its success.
Great job, Phil and thank you!
