For more than a decade, Marina O’Neill has honored the adventurous spirit of her grandmother, Freda Marie Been, in thrilling fashion, naming the flagship boat of her Sausalito-based SF Bay Adventures – an 80-foot, gaff-rigged tall ship available for private tours for up to 49 people and public sails – the Schooner Freda B.
“She was an amazing woman,” O’Neill says. While Covid-related protocols kept the schooner aground during the worst of the pandemic, the Freda B has long been back at it at full mast for a while now.
