Practice offers individual and small group therapy, parent coaching– and new in 2024! – psychoeducational and neuropsychological testing and social skills groups. They believe that mental health is based on skills that we can all learn and practice – and they offer support using strategies that research has shown help make things better.

Practice San Francisco was founded in 2017 in San Francisco by psychologist Dr. Nina Kaiser (CA PSY 22555) as a way to meet what Dr. Kaiser found to be an overwhelming need for child and adolescent mental health services in the Bay Area.

Dr. Kaiser launched Practice’s core Mighty Minds skills groups for kids – teaching evidence-based emotion regulation and stress management skills – and then began to hire other providers to allow them to serve a larger number of kids and families through both individual and small group services. In addition, the Practice team regularly delivers talks and workshops on mental health and wellness to local school and corporate partners.

Practice’s Mill Valley location opened in the fall of 2021; Dr. Kaiser is a Mill Valley resident (and mother to two elementary school-aged boys!) and was eager to expand the team to serve mental health needs in Mill Valley.

They are excited to announce the expansion of their Mill Valley offices and clinical team this month! Their therapists provide individual therapy for children, teens, and adults, parent coaching, and psychoeducational and neuropsychological testing for students between the ages of 2 and 25.

They also are offering several groups either by telehealth or in our Mill Valley location this fall: a behavioral parenting group for parents of kids with attention/behavior challenges between the ages of 5 and 12 (telehealth); our Mighty Minds small groups teaching emotion regulation skills to kids in kindergarten to 5th grades (in-person; K-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade); and a brand new social skills group for girls in third to fifth grades.

They are currently accepting referrals for individual therapy, psychological assessment, and parent coaching, and our fall groups kick off the week of September 23!  More information and registration for our group programs can be found on their website, www.practicesanfrancisco.com
