The organizers of the 46th Annual Muir Beach Volunteer Firemen’s Barbecue have two primary goals: raise money for the Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department, and throw one heck of a party.

They’ll look to accomplish both of those goals, as they have for the previous 45 editions of the event, with the help of live music by local favorites Andre Pessis and his All-Stars and opening band Soul Ska, as well as barbecue from the grill and a raffle of more than 100 prizes. There’s also an array of children’s games and activities, including a special play zone with climbing walls, bounce houses, and a mechanical bull to tame.

The event is set for Sunday, May 27, from noon to 5pm at Santos Meadows on Frank Valley Road – follow the signs from Muir Beach or Muir Woods. Volunteers will be selling chicken and veggies meals, desserts, sodas, beer and wine, as well as clothing and other items featuring the famous Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department iconic dog logo. Parking is $20 per vehicle; carpooling is encouraged.
