“Residential Treatment is a tough choice – but sometimes, the only choice.” says Jennifer. We offer compassionate consulting for struggling teens and young adults who need some sort of out-of-home mental health care.

It sounds daunting.  Parents may find themselves with an empty toolbox and struggling to consider that their child may need to leave the home to get better. Getting better may be to recover from substance abuse, support primary mental health and emotional dysregulation, resolve school refusal – or any combination of these.

It can also be stigmatizing and lonely. Jennifer has been there.  The parent of two boys with learning differences and mental health challenges, Jennifer has first-hand knowledge of the grief and loss that comes from making the tough choice of a therapeutic setting out of the home.  Her own son needed more than home could give.  “We tried every outpatient option including:  the IEP process and school district, a great psychiatrist, therapists and coaches.”

Jennifer’s JET ED Consulting is the premier provider of therapeutic educational consultative services. Her national practice ensures you get the best options for your family’s unique circumstances. Her mission is to provide the highest level of ethics and expertise in a caring and personal way.

Her consulting practice helps parents navigate the byzantine world of what is often a misunderstood modality. Jennifer’s boys attended Mill Valley Schools and she was a member of It Takes a Village Mill Valley during those years.

Jennifer also navigated the IEP process with MVMS and Tam District. Jennifer is a professional advisor to Marin Healthy Youth Partnership and frequent speaker at schools all over Marin. She dedicates many volunteer hours to helping families understand neurodiversity, mental health, parenting and IEPs.

When not consulting, Jennifer sings for Bread and Roses, can be found hiking and running on the trails of Mt. Tam and deep breathing and mindfulness in a yoga classes.

“I feel very lucky to have found Jennifer to work with my family on a residential placement for my teenager. Jennifer worked hard to fully understand our needs, and her professionalism, empathy and insights supported every aspect of this decision. With Jennifer’s knowledge and guidance we selected a placement that is a perfect fit for my family, where my teen made tremendous progress and our family is on a path to healing and growth.” – Marin County mom.
