Terra Marin School and the Terra Mandarin Preschool, which opened in late 2018 in the former Ring Mountain Day School space on Lomita Drive in Mill Valley, has unveiled its latest series of spring break and summer camps spanning a wide range of topics and age groups.

The schools, created by Wendy Xa, a former Goldman Sachs exec and a mother of two who founded the Mandarin immersion Presidio Knolls School in San Francisco in 2008 as a preschool before expanding it to a K-8 program, seek to be “a world class institution in the heart of Mill Valley,” Xa says.

First up are a pair of spring break activities, starting with Earth Discovery Nature Camp, which runs April 6-10 (9am-3pm) and offers children the opportunity to climb, hike, explore, connect, learn and play. Led by “highly trained professionals in the Earth Education space, this camp is an opportunity for kids to be outside in the fresh air, learn more about their environment (and themselves!) and have a great time while they’re at it,” school officials say. The activities include archery; hiking in places like Muir Woods, Cascade Canyon, Rodeo Beach & more; survival skills training; connecting with peers; fire-making animal tracking.

There’s also an SSAT Prep Workshop, which runs April 6-10 (9am-12pm) for ages 7th and 8th graders. In an intimate setting with purposeful individual attention, instructors provide a customized test prep program that is as unique as each of the program’s individual students. This program includes a parent orientation and 15 hours of instruction.
