Comedy in the Plaza– the Mill Valley Arts Commission’s annual night of free hilarity on the downtown plaza – regularly draws some of the best standup comedians in the business.
This year’s edition is a special one, as one of the Bay Area’s truly one-of-a-kind comedic joyrides returns to the heart of Mill Valley.
The event crossed a landmark moment in 2024, as it turned 20. The event is set for Thursday, June 26th at 6pm.

Cory Kahaney
Cory Kahaney is quite simply one of America’s premiere stand up comediennes.
While always in constant demand at comedy clubs coast to coast, Cory first caught fire after being a finalist in NBC’s hit reality show “Last Comic Standing” which has led to appearances on NBC’s “The Carson Daly Show,” Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn” and her first solo special, “Comedy Central Presents… Cory Kahaney.”
Other television credits include numerous appearances on CBS’ “The Late Late Show,” hosting a week of NBC’s “Later” as well as “The Martin Short Show,” “The View,” “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher”, CBS’ “The Late Show with David Letterman,” NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”, TBS’ Conan and an absolute kill on the CBS’ “Late Show with Steven Colbert.” Her off-Broadway hit “The J.A.P. Show” ran for six months in New York City and continues to tour the country under a new name, “The Princesses of Comedy” selling out theaters to rave reviews. Cory also performs regularly at Las Vegas and Atlantic City’s best casinos including The Tropicana, Harrah’s and Caesar’s Palace. Jourdain Fisher
Jourdain Fisher is a hilarious comedian, writer, and actor who made his late-night debut on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, earning a standing ovation and later joining the show as a staff writer.
He’s written for Netflix, BET, and VICELAND, and was a standout at Just For Laughs and a finalist in Stand Up NBC.
Jourdain’s viral clips have racked up millions of views on TikTok and Instagram and his debut comedy album, Good For You, is streaming everywhere.

Clara Bijl
Clara Bijl is an internationally unknown stand-up comedian who grew up in the French Alps, learned English by listening to rap music, and began her comedy journey after attending college in South Carolina.
She moved to New York City, worked with a speech therapist to drop her accent, and has since performed stand-up around the world. Clara has completed two Edinburgh Fringe Festival tours, released two comedy albums, and written for a Swiss comedy TV show. She’s a regular at top comedy clubs like the San Francisco Punch Line, Cobbs, and Rooster T. Feathers, and has opened for acts including Robin Williams, Paul Reiser, Demetri Martin, and Norah Jones. Clara frequently performs at private and corporate events, with clients ranging from Salesforce and Genentech to UC Berkeley and the French American Chamber of Commerce.
She’s funny in both English and French, creates material out of every part of her life—including marriage, kids, and raising French cats in America—and was once stranded for hours on an escalator.
Jeremy Alder
Homeschooled in the heart of Texas by fundamentalist missionary parents with a penchant for conspiracy theories, Jeremy’s childhood was anything but conventional. Steeped in a world of alternative facts and fervent beliefs, he learned early on to find the humor in life’s absurdities.
Now married with children of his own, Jeremy’s material delves into the trials and tribulations of growing up homeschooled, the complications of religion, the mysteries of marriage, the chaos of parenting, and the existential crisis of aging—all with a healthy dose of skepticism and silliness, dry wit and charm.
