Remember the Leo Bash?

The members of the Cole Tate Band do, and they’re reviving the annual event that was held at the old Sweetwater, where an ever-changing tableau of Marin’s incredible musicians would gather – often based on who wasn’t on tour and thus able to hit the stage for a jamboree-style performance.

The revived Leo Bash, set for Monday, August 7 at the Sweetwater Music Hall, will feature Cole Tate and Mikaele Tate and their bandmates, as well as an array of special guests. They includes Stephanie Keys from Big Brother and the Holding Company, veteran bass player Tony Saunders (currently working on a Barbra Streisand project), guitarist Miles Schon and Lee Gallagher and the Hallelujah pianist/organist Kirby Hammel, who was featured in Jambase’s “Terrapin Station” 40th Anniversary series.

Those musicians will also be joined by vocalist/keyboard/drummer C.C. Dawson, who has been tourist with Tate at festivals in Colorado, as well as guitarist Chris Collins, who plays with Shana Morrison as well as the popular tribute band Super Diamond. Multi-instrumentalist Ben Andrews of the Stone Foxes and bassist Jimmy DeWalt, also from Lee Gallagher and the Hallelujah, will join for a few tunes as well.

The 411: The Leo Bash featuring the Cole Tate Band and many more is set for Monday, August 7 at the Sweetwater Music Hall. Show 8pm. Tix $10 in advance, $15 at door. are going to jack up a couple of tunes.
