When Jim McCann took the helm of the City of Mill Valley in 2010 after an 11-year stint in in the same role in Calistoga, it was hard to predict the imprint he’d leave on the community he served as city manager.
Nearly a decade later of managing a $40 million budget and 150 full-time employees across eight departments and navigating massive undertakings like the MV2040 General Plan, Miller Avenue Streetscape Project, Community Communications Strategy including new City website and much more, McCann was feted by a broad spectrum of current and former city officials and councilmembers, leaders, members of boards and commissions, family and friends on Jan. 21.
