MV Library Foundation Debuts ‘Story Walk,’ a Walkathon-Style Fundraiser in Support of the Public Library ā Oct. 24
On Oct. 24, the Mill Valley Library FoundationĀ hosts Story Walk, an all-ages,Ā community-based fundraising event benefiting the foundation that calls for attendees to walk from the Mill Valley Public Library to Tam High and/or the Mill Valley Lumber Yard.

On Monday, the Mill Valley City Council gave the green light to MVHS’ proposalĀ to install historical signs at significant sites around town.

On a gorgeous Friday afternoon on Children’s Islands at the Marin Center in San Rafael, more than two dozen people were honored by the Bank of Marin for their “tireless efforts in support of our community” at the 2021 Spirit of Marin Awards, including Mill Valley City Manager Alan Piombo and the owners of the Mill Valley Market. For many, it was a day of open-air smiles and hugs in the midst of an unrelenting pandemic and the economic and social turbulence of the past 18 months.

Calling all art-loving kiddos: The Mill Valley Historical Society is inviting children and their families to come to the Mill Valley Lumber Yard (129 Miller Ave.) on a trio of upcoming Saturdays ā Sept. 18, Sept. 25, and Oct. 2, from 11am to 2pm ā to help paint a full-size model of historic Engine No. 9, a 100-year-old steam engine that is the only surviving piece of the once world-famous Mt. Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railway.Ā
