From Pam Keon and All the Amazing People Who Took on the Herculean Task of the 125th Celebration: Join the Dedication of the 125th Time Capsule – Dec. 8th, 5pm at City Hall!

Pam Keon: On Monday, December 8th, I hope you can attend these events at Mill Valley’s City Hall. At 5pm we will dedicate the 2025 Mill Valley Time Capsule. This ceremony marks the celebration of Mill Valley’s 125th anniversary year with the placement of a time capsule capturing daily life in 2025 and documenting the three-day 125th Anniversary Celebration over Labor Day Weekend. The 2025 time capsule will be placed inside the 12+ ton red jasper boulder that sits in front of City Hall, and replaces the 1953 time capsule that was removed from the boulder earlier this year. The new time capsule is to be opened on September 1, 2100 – so mark your calendars, or your children’s or grandchildren’s calendars!

ā€œThere was a recent incident where a juvenile was riding, crashed, suffered some injuries, and the parent was issued a citation for him riding that vehicle without a license because of the type of vehicle … which was like riding an e-motorcycle, essentially,ā€ Duenas said. McCracken said, ā€œWe continue to administer an e-bike safety course for juveniles who are cited on an e-bike for the first time. Our goal in developing this course was to continue offering education to youth in our city while keeping these violations from entering the justice system by avoiding a referral to traffic court.ā€

The Richmond Bridge Saga Continues, as a Revised Bike Path Plan Has Been Submitted

Members of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition have been remaining committed to maintaining 24/7 access to the multiuse path on the bridge. ā€œWe would rather they keep their $1.6m and keep the trail open,ā€ Tarrell Kullaway, the organization’s director, said in an email. ā€œWe do not believe that the things the trail pilot was supposed to test have been tested yet,ā€ Kullaway said. ā€œIn particular, the toll plaza, where the biggest bottleneck occurs, and the lack of safe connections on the Marin side should be addressed before data can be deemed accurate.ā€ Kullaway also noted that the path from Main Street to Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in San Rafael is incomplete, making access to and from the bridge on the Marin side challenging for some.
