Memorial Day Delivers The Full Gamut of Emotions In Weekend for the Ages
Of the dozens of parade entries awarded for Best Car, Best Float, Best Dog, Best Music, Best Novelty, Best Business, Best Community Spirit and Best Overall, the big winner was the Tim Ryan Family Float, a visually dazzling pickup truck float that asked a simple question: “What are you grateful for?” and encouraged attendees to “Have Unprotected Gratitude.”

The council authorized the purchase of Automated License Plate Recognition system, which will allow the department to glean critical data around who parks where, why and when, and thus be able in the future to change certain parking designations in response to usage patterns.

The Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade will be ‘LIVE’ on May 30th this year. The parade kicks off with the special Veterans Ceremony, which includes the student K-8 essay contest, “What does Memorial Day mean to me?” starting 9:45 at Lytton Square followed by the parade at 10:30.
