Bursting at the Seams, AP Luxe Salon Readies Move to 250 East Blithedale Ave., Tripling Its Space, in Early 2019

When Amanda Davis and Paige Charbonnier opened the AP Luxe Salon with ex-partner Jaylana Zemansky in June 2016, they chose a tagline that spoke directly to their guiding principle: “Self-indulgence is the ultimate form of luxury, and luxury lives at AP Luxe.”

That tagline, along with their focus on creating a fun, supportive hair salon for women, has paid dividends. They’ve been bursting at the seams of their nearly 500-square-foot space at 40 Millwood Street ever since they opened, so much so that they’ve been on the hunt for months for a larger space.

Now they’ve found one, signing a lease for a 1,500-square-foot in the new development at 250 East Blithedale Ave., where they’ll be positioned in suite C between Pacific Union International Real Estate and Faya Jamali’s new Belle Marin Aesthetic Medicine. Le Marais Bakery is the fourth tenant in the four-suite center.

“We’re thrilled to have found a space that allows us to serve more of our clients at once, hire some new stylists and launch our own blowdry bar,” said Davis and Charbonnier, who first met while working together at Magnolia Avenue Salon in downtown Larkspur, where they morphed from colleagues to friends to partners..

Davis and Charbonnier, who are among the very few Certified L’Oreal Professionnel Balayage Artists in Northern California, also said they plan to partner with L’Oreal to become one of the brand’s professional academy education centers.

The pair plan to build out their new space over the next few months and hope to open in February or March 2019.

“We can’t wait,” Davis said. “”We really want to create a good place for employees to work and empower young women and give them a supportive space.”
