The existing 2,400 square foot temporary outdoor dining area with 80 seats would be removed, and a new 758-square foot permanent covered outdoor patio with up to 40 seats would be added.
The project also includes an expanded entry trellis and a new door to an existing private dining room. The patio would be open seven days a week from 5pm – 10pm, same as the indoor restaurant. A Variance is required for parking, since 28 on-site parking spaces are required and seven on-site spaces would be provided. FULL HEARING.
I’m glad that Bungalow 44 will be allowed to make their patio permanent. It’s been a tremendous boon during these COVID times—the best outdoor dining in downtown MV. But, it will only seat 40 people—half the number the temporary patio allows. I’ve been there many times in the evening when the temporary patio appears to be full. Seems a shame that it’s going to shrink.
