Book Passage owner Elaine Petrocelli.

On the hunt for that perfect gift for the book lover in your life?

You won’t do much better than a Dec. 1st Outdoor Art Club event, where Elaine Petrocelli, co-founder of one of Marin’s premier independent book stores, Book Passage in Corte Madera, will highlight new literature and suggest books for holiday gift giving in all categories, from children’s books to adult fiction and nonfiction to specialties like cooking and travel. Tune in for this beloved annual event and leave with the perfect gift to order for everyone on your holiday shopping list.

The 1pm event via Zoom is free and open to the public.

And if you’re looking to make those purchases without leaving the 94941, the neighbor-owned Depot Bookstore has you covered within the Depot Bookstore & Cafe that former Vasco owner Paula Lazzareschi and a group of longtime Mill Valley residents bought and renovated and reopened in 2021.

Here’s the surprise: the Depot Bookstore can nearly match the seemingly instantaneous turnaround time of the you-know-who behemoth. Given the bookstore’s limited square footage, the staff, led by longtime resident Katy Leese, places special orders every Sunday evening, and the books largely arrive on Tuesday for pickup.

The 411: Elaine Petrocelli, co-founder of Book Passage in Corte Madera, highlights new literature and suggests books for holiday gift giving on Thursday, December 1 at 1pm via Zoom. Free. GO HERE TO REGISTER.
