Marin Theatre’s Next Play: A Trial that Shook the Renaissance—and Still Resonates Today
Join Marin Theatre for their next play, a searing drama exposing the 1612 trial that rocked Renaissance Rome. This gripping true story of the feminist icon who faced down her attacker comes to life in a visually striking play that blends history with contemporary commentary. Conceived from centuries-old court transcripts, It’s True, It’s True, It’s True is a powerful, fast-paced drama that finds 17-year-old painter Artemisia Gentileschi battling to tell her truth while up against an antagonistic judicial system and the constrictive gender expectations of the time. Don’t miss this powerful drama about one woman who refused to be silenced and became one of the most successful painters of her generation.
