Barely a year since Safeway debuted a beautifully remodeled store in Strawberry Village, It did so again this month at Safeway @ Camino Alto – with a $3,000 Donation to Kiddo! from Safeway.

The event featured speeches from Mill Valley Mayor Urban Carmel, along with Kiddo! Executive Director Jessica Newman and her team.

Carmel spoke about the importance of having the Camino Alto location serve as one of the gateways to our community.

“First off, thank you to Safeway for being in Mill Valley for 50 years, that is amazing,” Carmel said. “Thank you for being a key part of our community. It’s really important to our city that our businesses continue to invest to our city. Why? Because this is one of the gateways to our city. That companies in Mill Valley continue to invest in our community improves the quality of life in our community. Having a sparkling, excellent Safeway is really important to our town.”

Karl Schroeder, President of Safeway’s Northern California Division, also said a few words and shared his excitement with being able to remodel two vital components of Mill Valley’s business landscape in short order.
