Bill Lampl.

Bill Lampl, in his own words:

Dear MVSD families, alumni families, business partners and community supporters,

Over the past decade, it has been an honor and a privilege for me to support our schools and our community as Executive Director of Kiddo!. It has also been a deeply personal endeavor for me as this is where my own children were raised and educated. However, after much thought and reflection, I am writing today to share with you my decision to move on.

With a strong leadership team, a healthy Kiddo! Endowment and Program Reserve, and the passage of Measure G and Prop 28, this feels like the right time for a transition.

My passion for Kiddo!, for the importance of arts education, and for our district, remains strong and I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition to new leadership during the next twelve months. I intend to stay in my current role through the end of this school year. Thereafter, I have informed the Kiddo! Board of Directors that I’m happy to help transition the new Executive Director for the remainder of 2023. The Kiddo! Board of Directors has begun the process of creating a transition committee and will release more information about timing and process in the coming weeks.

The opportunity to nurture this wonderful organization that has enriched the lives of thousands of children has given me great pride and joy. I don’t think I can ever fully express my gratitude for that privilege. Kiddo!’s success, however, is due to the long-term efforts of a generous and caring community, a committed and competent board of directors and office team, and a passionate school board and staff who believe in the importance of a well-rounded education that embraces the holistic needs of every child. With that ongoing support, we will continue to put the exclamation point on the education of our current students and for generations to come.

I will be seeing many of you at the upcoming Kiddo! Gala and in the months ahead and look forward to working with all involved to help ensure a smooth transition for Kiddo!. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

With appreciation and gratitude,

Bill
