Practice San Francisco is celebrating 10 years of Mighty Minds mindfulness and emotion regulation skills groups for kids!
Groups for 3rd to 5th graders start the week of November 4 in Practice’s Mill Valley location, just off Miller Avenue in Sycamore Park.
Since Dr. Nina Kaiser created the Mighty Minds program for kids in 2014, hundreds of Bay Area kids have learned skills that help them manage stress and big emotions in Mighty Minds small group classes. The Mighty Minds program focuses on skills that research shows to be effective in managing stress, mood, anxiety, and anger– these skills are life skills that every kid can benefit from learning and practicing!
In Mighty Minds, kids learn how to notice, cope with, and change big feelings. Through games, video clips, and fun hands-on activities, the Mighty Minds curriculum helps kids build their growth mindsets, lean into challenges, and more confidently and capably navigate the world. And parents get the chance to learn too– every session comes complete with a parent guide so that parents are on the same page about the concepts and skills that their kids are learning (and have specific ideas about how they can continue to help kids practice these skills at home!).
This program is offered at Practice San Francisco’s Mill Valley and San Francisco locations for kids in kindergarten through fifth grades on a weekly basis after school during the school year (and in a one-week intensive format during the summer!). Don’t wait, the next sessions for third to fifth graders kick off on Thursday, November 7 (with next sessions for kindergarteners through 2nd graders in February)!
