In Looking to Sell the Building at 138-144 Throckmorton Avenue, Lucy Mercer Seeks to Lay the Groundwork for the Long-Term Future of the Multi-Faceted Throckmorton Theatre Organization She and Our Community Have Built
Selling the building to an arts-friendly patron, who understands and values what the building and it’s long-term tenant provide to the community, could go a long way towards cementing the future for our children. Mercer, as the organization’s Artistic Director, as well as members of the non-profit board, would look to negotiate a long-term lease with the new owner. “I remain fully dedicated to this business and its service to our community. I believe the next generation will only make it stronger,” says Mercer.
Mill Valley City Council Toasts the Remarkable Contributions of Joan Murray, a Dedicated Community Leader and Advocate for Positive Change
In recognizing Murray’s amazing impact, Mayor Urban Carmel said, “Mill Valley consistently punches above its weight on the backs of our incredible people volunteers. We have people in this community who are intelligent and passionate and open up their pocket books and it makes a huge difference, from sports and the environment and arts and culture. And it spans every aspect of our community and it is high time that we start to recognize all of the people that make al of this happen.”
Marin Environmental Housing Collaborative Makes the Case for Addressing the Massive Glut of Off-Street Parking Requirements
“Marin doesn’t need all of this parking,” write Silva and Wells. “Towns have wildly different policies, based more on accidents of history than sound analysis. For multi-family housing, Mill Valley requires 25% more parking than Tiburon, and Fairfax requires 32% more than San Anselmo. These dramatic differences wouldn’t occur if parking mandates were scientifically based. Excess parking consumes too much land.”

The universal human yearning to belong is deeper than mere psychology. Organizations and individuals unintentionally signal who belongs and who is on the periphery in a variety of ways. Processed by the brain at an unconscious level, signals of outsider status negatively influence focus, productivity, creativity and ambition.

Feel the 94941 Love: WorldAtlas Shines a Light on ‘7 Picture-Perfect Towns in Northern California’
The visitor center for this old-growth redwood forest, named in honor of the influential American author, activist, and naturalist, is just over three miles west of Mill Valley. Cameras struggle to capture both the height and depth of this magical place. In town, the quiet, yet communal streets crisscross around Lytton Square, rewarding aimless afternoon strollers with cool coffee shops and unexpected boutiques.
Still Looking for an Appropriate New Year’s Resolution for 2024 – We Found the Perfect Fit for Mill Valley Residents!
My resolution this year is to, whenever possible, shop in person instead of online. I like this resolution because it lines up with other objectives I have concerning my finances, community, sustainability, simplicity. And it’s not totally about me, so it feels a little less dreary and narcissistic than typical resolution fare.
