For the past year or so, Tam Junction resident Adam Cohen has used his popular Tam Glad website and blog to focus on the wonders of the 94941’s funkiest commercial district. His blog radiates his “head over heels” feelings toward his neighborhood, and he’s written about local gems like Early Bird TacosRed Whale CoffeeTJ’s Gym and Susie Turner’s Green Door Design, among many others.

Cohen’s latest digest shifts gears a bit and turns its attention to 45-year-old Marin kayaker and explorer Cyril Derreumaux who in June plans to make his second attempt at kayaking from San Francisco to Oahu, Hawaii. “The journey will be 2,400 nautical miles for approximately 60-70 days in a 23-foot custom kayak unsupported at sea, meaning he will be alone for every mile,” Cohen writes. “He will have a support team on land to monitor his progress, take health checks, and provide professional guidance and decisions when necessary. This journey by definition is what a dream not deferred is all about. “
