While Meier’s footprint spans the likes of Saif Azzuz in All āSmoke in Our Hair: Native Memory and Unsettled TimeĀ at Hudson River Museum andĀ Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice,Ā he has affirmed his deepening roots to Mill Valley. The clearest representation of those roos arrived in January, when the gallery hosted Dave Muller and Mill Valley music legend John Goddard in conversation at Anthony Meier gallery in Mill Valley, CA on January 25th.

As part of the project, CCSF fashion students were given returned Etalon bras to use as their canvas. They were challenged to preserve the garmentās structural integrity while adding creative elements, decorations, or embellishments that showcased their artistic flair. The designs will culminate in a professional photoshoot, where the creations will be showcased in student portfolios and on Etalonās social media.

One stroke leads to the next and hours pass.Ā Marks and colors swarm around and in me to find their way on to the canvas. I have no expectation except the unexpected.Ā Here outside of time, surprise follows surprise. Ultimately the marks and colors come to agreement.Ā Ā The picture is complete. From the silence I see the work. As I look into the nameless field newly painted, the work whispers a name.”
