Planting the Future: The Outdoor Art Club Gets Ready for Its Next Century

Planting the Future

If you’ve walked past the shingled building tucked behind the wisteria-covered gate at 1 West Blithedale Avenue lately, you may have noticed something: the Outdoor Art Club has been busy. In fact, over the past three years, the Club — one of the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce’s longtime members — has quietly undertaken a once-in-a-century effort to preserve and renew one of downtown’s architectural gems. The club has hosted generations of civic gatherings, performances, celebrations, and community conversations – but few people remember that in the 1930s it narrowly escaped demolition when the City proposed turning the site into a parking lot. Now, the Club’s members have once again rolled up their sleeves to care for this landmark — this time by ensuring it meets modern safety and health standards while preserving its historic character.

SF Chronicle: San Francisco Went Too Far in the Wrong Direction – It’s Leading the Way Again, and It Could Benefit Marin and the Larger Bay Area

Something has been in the air inĀ San FranciscoĀ for more than a year now — and for once, it’s not fog or hype aboutĀ what’s next in tech. Instead, it’s clarity. The Mill Valley Music Fest Has Benefited Greatly From Erickson Sound Production – a New D&B Audiotechnik XSL8 Creates a Pocket of Quiet Where the Monitor Engineer & the Band Have More Control of the Stage Sound Levels to Hone Their Craft

The big update for MVMF audiophiles is that local sound company ESP Audio brings custom d&b D&B Audiotechnik’s rig each year, and captains the helm. D&B just released a cutting edge new concert rig, and Nils Erickson, the owner of ESP, is debuting it at the MVMF this year. In addition to updated drivers and components, the new D&B Model creates a pocket of quiet on the stage where the monitor engineer and the band have more control of the stage sound levels to hone their craft. “Our artists are in for an unparalleled stage experience this year!” Erickson says.Ā All of this amounts to improved sound quality, less power consumption, and new sound field technology to bleed less off the main PA onto the stage, giving the band a better experience on the stage to hone their craft.Ā
