“Raised with a horse named Missy, I always felt a connection to the western lifestyle,” Baldocchi says. “As an adult I found myself drawn back to it, documenting the timeless essence of cowboys, ranchers, and their families.” Using various cameras from 35mm to 4”x 5” and available lighting, Baldocci’s approach emphasizes building trust and understanding with her subjects.

Proposals still have to be vetted, Runner said, acknowledging that there are few potential sites left in Marin. “We’re still working on the long-term goals,” Runner said. Marin County gained about 800 jobs between January and February. The unemployment rate in the Marin County was 4% last month, down from a revised 4.1% in January. The rate was 3.1% in February 2023. Marin’s unemployment rate for February was the third-lowest in the state, behind San Mateo County at 3.7% and San Francisco at 3.8%.
