Tam High School Students Launch Tutoring Program at Mill Valley Middle School

Mill Valley Middle School (MVMS) is thrilled to announce an exciting new tutoring initiative aimed at providing enhanced academic support for its students. Spearheaded by former MVMS student Brady Dresner in collaboration with 6th grade Counselor Erin Sheedy, this program is designed to foster collaboration and promote academic growth within our community. Starting Monday, October 14, 2024, students from Tam High will be available in the MVMS library every Monday and Thursday from 3:05pm to 4pm. They will offer free tutoring sessions across all subjects, ensuring that every student has the resources they need to succeed.

Poet and/the Bench Welcomes Elina Peduzzi and Rosemary Carmen Smith for ‘Interconnected Opposing Forces’ – Thursday, October 24, 3-7pm

Bonnie Powers and Jeffrey Levin, owners of the multi-faceted Poet and/the Bench lifestyle store and jewelry atelier space at 11 Throckmorton Ave., continue to curate creativity, with ‘Interconnected Opposing Forces,’ an event set for Thursday, October 25 from 3-7pm. The event features a pair of artists via both sculpture and Cut Paper Collage.Ā Seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interdependent and interconnected. Finding harmony and balance in systems in which the forces are constantly changing, can trip the imagination into innovation gear. Such is the story with the two artists, featured in Poet and/the Bench’s latest exhibit.

The Redwoods, A Community of Seniors in Mill Valley, Touts Environmental & Cost Reduction for Residents: Participation in Marin Municipal Water Program Has Reduced Water Usage by 33%!

The Redwoods, Mill Valley’s Community of Seniors, has been working to reduce its water usage through participation in Marin Water’s ā€œCash for Grassā€ program that offers rebates to homeowners and businesses that replace grass with drought tolerant landscapes. Since completing the project in August, The Redwoods, home to over 300 low- and moderate-income seniors, has achieved a reduction of water usage by a third over last year.

This is your chance to learn how Measure L will provide the funding needed to protect our city from wildfire risks, maintain critical infrastructure like roads and emergency routes, and support needed maintenance for our beloved library and community center. With unanimous support from the Mill Valley City Council and endorsements from 12 former Mayors, Measure L has also been backed by key local organizations including the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce.
