A gala dinner and program will begin with appetizers by Paseo Bistro chef AngĆ©lica Duarte and complimentary wine from Bay Area vintners, followed by a lavish buffet dinner by Ghiringhelli Catering. The award presentations will culminate with a performance by celebrated musician Jerry Harrison, this yearās Milley honoree for musical arts. Seven years after its debut at Berkeleyās Aurora Theatre Co., Bay Area playwright Jonathan Spectorās sly, incisive comedy āEureka Dayā is coming to Mill Valleyās Marin Theatre. A spoof of ultra-careful parents discussing vaccination policy at an exclusive private school ā and a spoof of much more than that ā the play has been well received everywhere itās been produced, including London and New York, where it won this yearās Tony Award for best revival of a play. Opening Aug. 28, āEureka Dayā will feature original director Josh Costello (Auroraās artistic director) at the helm.

Seven accomplished Mill Valley residents will be honored at an elegant program and buffet supper from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 27 at the Mill Valley Community Center. The six will receive bronze statuettes designed by the late sculptor John Libberton. Mill Valley is the only city in Marin County that officially recognizes the talents and achievements of people in the arts.

Now they’re onto a very different but equally riveting performance withĀ New Zealand-based Indian Ink Theatre Co. takes command of Marin Theatreās Boyer Theatre, converting it into a capacious storage room/kitchen in the back of Mrs. Krishnanās store, stocked to the rafters with boxes of packaged foods. In colorful party garb, her tenant, a university student and would-be DJ named James (Justin Rogers), greets visitors with a high-performance smile, lots of dazzling repartee and thumping Bollywood disco music to put them in the mood for what proves to be a wildly entertaining 80-minute ride.
