Angela’s Ice Cream Co-Owner: ā€œThere’s Something About This Place. There’s the Beauty, the Connection to the Larger Bay Area – People in this Region Vote with Their Dollarsā€

At the other end of that Throckmorton Ave. block, there’s also no doubt that another relative newcomer, blockbuster hangout haven for a slightly different clientele is Angela’s Organic Ice Cream, the latest edition in a long line of fantastic ice cream shops in the 94941 (shout out to Baskin Robbins’ incredibly long run ā€˜til it closed in 2011.) In each case, the lines out the door say it all. Angela’s Organic Ice Cream was originally founded in Petaluma as Lala’s Creamery. Angela Garat and her son, Ignacio, purchased the business and recipes in 2017, and it’s been full speed ahead ever since.Ā There is MUCH more to come, as you’ll read here.

Facing Cost Headwinds, Marine Layer Group Pivots to an Alternative Model for Massive Unoccupied BofA Building in the Heart of Town, Eyes Turning It Into Retail Use Along With Flexible Work and Event Space

Aimlessly drifting tumbleweeds don’t spend much time in the 94941. When an intensely-felt Mill Valley controversy arises, our community engages, often deeply so, to say the least. Few subjects have stirred the proverbial pot in town more than the June 2023 proposal for the membership-based Treehouse from Marine Layer founders Adam Lynch and Mike Natenshon, part of the team leasing and developing the former bank building at 60 Throckmorton Ave., all of whom live in Mill Valley.

Philip Fath, a ‘Musician’s Musician,’ Died Peacefully at the Age of 95 on July 5, 2024 – He Was Principal Clarinet of the SF Opera & Symphony, Beloved Family Man and Mill Valley Musician

On October 28 at 5pm, there will be a free musical celebration of life for Phil at the Throckmorton Theatre. Performers will be some of Phil’s fellow musicians from the SF Opera and Symphony. All are welcome. The family has asked that gifts and donations be made to the Throckmorton Theatre instead of the family, a wonderful and supportive gesture to the theatre Phil loved so much (and performed at frequently). Phil was a deeply loved community member with a talent rare and fantastic.

Marin Voice: Cost of Housing in our County has Become Obscene

I have met a number of Marin residents facing homelessness. One works full-time while also caring for her developmentally disabled son. Another pays more in rent than her entire monthly income, watching her savings shrink monthly. These residents are in their 70s. They are scared, angry and feel betrayed by their community. They do not match the stereotypes of the homeless.
