While Meier’s footprint spans the likes of Saif Azzuz in All “Smoke in Our Hair: Native Memory and Unsettled Time at Hudson River Museum and Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice, he has affirmed his deepening roots to Mill Valley. The clearest representation of those roos arrived in January, when the gallery hosted Dave Muller and Mill Valley music legend John Goddard in conversation at Anthony Meier gallery in Mill Valley, CA on January 25th.

Meier is set to showcase “All Glass,” the new sculpture exhibition by acclaimed artist Larry Bell, “transforming the Mill Valley gallery space as only Bell can. Bell’s work is known for how it often changes the perceptions of the spaces it is exhibited in, as light passes through pieces like box sculptures and glass walls works. The gallery’s abundance of skylights and Marin’s gorgeous variances of sun conditions are an exciting addition to the site-specific nature of Bell’s practice,” Bravo writes.

Trained in a wide array of traditional crafts and material processes including woodworking, bronze casting, glassblowing, ceramics, and stone carving, Schlesinger’s work evidences an appreciation for the intricacies of craftsmanship. This is reflective of his upbringing as the son of a carpenter and his respect for his skilled fabricators and studio assistant, Robbie Gould.

After nearly four decades in San Francisco, dealer Anthony Meier will leave the city for more picturesque environs nearby, according to ARTnews. Early next year, he will move his namesake gallery across the Golden Gate Bridge to Mill Valley taking over the spaces on Throckmorton that were previously occupied by Pollen + Wool and Christopher Salon.
