Ash Wednesday Service and a push for living wages for caregivers.

In addition to being home to the best marquee in town, hands down, Mt. Tamalpais United Methodist Church continues to be a force for good in our county.

In conjunction with the Marin Organizing Committee (MOC), Mt. Tam Church is hosting a Civic Academy on Living Wages for Caregivers on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 12-1:30pm. The event takes place in the church’s Fellowship Hall at 410 Sycamore Ave. in Mill Valley. Refreshments provided. To Register:

In urging connection and support on this issue, the MOC wrote, “We are facing a care crisis in Marin. There is a shortage of caregivers for older adults and people with disabilities, especially for the most vulnerable among us. And those among us who do this essential work face low wages and difficult working conditions. Come learn how we can act to make Marin a community that truly cares –for older adults, people with disabilities, workers, and all of us.”

Four days earlier, Mt. Tam Church is hosting an Ash Wednesday Service on Wednesday, February 22nd at 6:30pm. The whole community is invited to join in a contemplative service of prayer, song, scripture, a brief message and the imposition of ashes in the Sanctuary.
