The Mill Valley Golf Course, a gorgeous, 9-hole, 42-acre, par 33 golfers’ staple ever since it opened for play 102 years ago, has received a new lease on life in recent years, with the Mill Valley City Council voting unanimously in February 2022 to approve an agreement with Touchstone Golf, a Bay Area golf course management company whose 40-course portfolio also includes the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco, Tilden Park Golf Course in Berkeley and Lake Chabot in Oakland. The Council also backed a plan to invest $1.7 million in the golf course over the next five years with both public and private capital investment, significantly boosting a course that had been operating at annual deficits of nearly $400,000 in the pre-pandemic years.

Now the operators of the course are looking to give back in a big way. They’re hosting “Tee Off for Education,” an event on June 4, a joint fundraiser benefiting the Tam High Foundation and Kiddo! – students from kindergarten through high school.

The event’s format is a four-person team scramble. There will also be a putting contest with closest-to-the-pin prizes. Lunch will be provided with your entry fee. There will be prizes for the low-net and low-gross scores. Each team member will receive a ticket into the drawing for some golf prizes. Prizes will be awarded at 5:30 pm.

The entry fee is $600 for an Adult Team and $200 for an All-Youth Team consisting of players who are 18 years old and under. Proceeds will be shared evenly between Kiddo! and the Tam High Foundation.
