Not only does Makers Market showcase the products of independent creators, artists and makers, but it regularly spreads its wings beyond its four walls, hosting outdoor markets and craft fairs within the Lumber Yard. The typical event hosts between 20-40 artists, featuring live music and drinks. The MVLY location will host at least six outdoor markets a year, Ekman says.
It does so again this Saturday, July 14 (10am-5pm), with an array of Bay Area artists and makers, including Mary Krawczyk Ceramics via Little Sky Home, Kirsten Muenster Jewelry, Tina Fossella’s ceramics via Anne Fossella Pottery and Noushie’s jewelry via Eight + Sand.
“We’re really excited to have a space here and to connect with this community,” Ekman says.
The event dovetails nicely with the Mill Valley Chamber’s citywide Sidewalk Sales on July 13-15. Those Sidewalk Sales give shops & boutiques all over town the opportunity to spread their wings onto the sidewalk and offer discounts to shoppers on some of the busiest days of the year. MORE INFO HERE.
The 411: Makers Market, which is open in the Mill Valley Lumber Yard at 129 Miller Ave., hosts an outdoor market featuring an array of artists and makers on Saturday, July 14 from 10am-5pm. MORE INFO. And here’s the full story on Suzy Ekman and Makers Market.
NOTE: Help the environment and take advantage of the easy transit, pedestrian and bike access to the Lumber Yard, with 60 bike parking spaces onsite. If you need to drive, don’t park in front of neighbors homes as there is ample median public parking in the surrounding area.
