On the heels of a collective quartet of renowned local galleries – Seager/Gray GalleryDesta GalleryKim Eagles-Smith Gallery and Robert Green Fine Arts – launching the Mill Valley Art Dealers Association to raise our community’s profile as an arts mecca, it looks like the 94941’s arts bounty will continue to grow.

The latest reminder that Mill Valley’s long-burgeoning gallery scene seems primed to remain a buzzworthy arts destination comes from Aerena Galleries, which has long been a steady presence in Napa, Healdsburg and St. Helena.

“Our expansion from the wine country dovetails with an apparent art & design-oriented retail ‘renaissance’ in downtown Mill Valley,” says Gabrielle Miller, gallery leader of the space at 53 Throckmorton Ave., located between Surf + Sand and Playa. “As you’ll see, we creatively curate contemporary paintings, bronze sculpture, Murano-style blown glass, photography, objets d’art, and collectible furnishings. “

On Saturday, Oct. 1 from 1-5pm, Miller and her team are hosting a celebration of the Mill Valley gallery’s opening, the newest venture from proprietor Michael Polenske.

“For our friends and neighbors, enjoy light refreshments while viewing a curated selection of Fine Art & Design from the ÆRENA collection,” Miller says.

Polenske’s vision reflects the heroic spirit of Teddy Roosevelt’s provocative “Man in the Arena” speech, creating captivating spaces that celebrate the work of over one hundred emerging to internationally renowned artists who fearlessly express authenticity and integrity their work.“It is not the critic who counts.
