ICB ART (previously ICB Art Association), Sausalito’s renowned artist collective, has announced that it is hosting, on Dec. 7-8 from 11am-5pm, the annual Winter Open Studios at the historic ICB Building.
Presented by ICB ART, this exclusive, once yearly event offers a rare chance to connect with over 100 cutting-edge artists in their working studios. Known for showcasing artists with national, international, and museum exhibitions, Winter Open Studios is a premier Bay Area event for collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts.
For over 50 years, the ICB Building has been a magnet for creatives across disciplines, including sculpture, painting, photography, fashion, architecture and interior design. Its three floors buzz with creative energy, where cross-pollination between artists is a daily occurrence.
“There’s an electric vibe in the building, and this event lets the public feel that energy firsthand,” said ICB ART Board Co-President Anki Gelb. “It’s a rare opportunity for visitors to engage directly with artists and experience the creative process up close.”
“If visitors are seeking something truly special, we’re happy to guide them to studios that might be the perfect match,” added Linda Wegmann, co-president. “The artistic diversity here ensures there’s something for the most discerning eye.”
The event is warm and welcoming, allowing visitors to relax in the studios, converse with artists, and explore the work at their own pace.
Housed in a WWII-era shipbuilding warehouse on the historic Sausalito waterfront, the ICB Building’s storied history and unique environment have created a professional community like no other. Artists often wait years to secure a studio here, drawn by the collaborative spirit and unparalleled creative synergy that defines the building.
The event features a number of Mill Valley artists, including Fawn Bailey, Benjamin Benet, Chris Chaffin, Elizabeth Geisler, Bibby Gignilliat, Cindy Kamm, Dana Spaeth and Linda Wegmann.
