Family Time on Miller Avenue
We’re spotlighting the family-centric businesses of Miller Avenue, including Tam Bikes, Super Duper Burger and Tamalpie, all of whom came out on the other side of the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project to a massively more vibrant street, teeming with multi-modal users. Sponsored by Redwood Credit Union, this series will be highlighting more businesses, nonprofits and arts organizations throughout 2020 and beyond!
A 2020 Winterfest Like No Other
We shelved a traditional Winterfest event in 2020, for all of the obvious reasons. In its place came the Holiday Hunt, a scavenger hunt for kids and families to find silver stars at more than 40 businesses and organizations all over town and take and submit photos to have a chance to win gift cards at participating businesses. The other is our A 2020 Winterfest Like No Other film, featuring a ton of familiar faces from all over the 94941. This holiday video spearheaded by amazing local filmmaker Norm Hunter features multi-talented local singer Camille Rose, who provides just the right love-laden message for the moment. Enjoy – and eat, drink, shop and do everything you can to support your community!
Inspired Chefs
A trio of culinary artists – Bungalow 44’s Gabe Charpentier, Kyle Swain of Watershed and Mike Baker of Gravity Tavern – take us on a journey through their process of making Pacific Rock Cod Escabeche, Halibut Crudo and Lobster Roll, respectively. Warning: This will make you hungry! Video by Summertime Films, commissioned by the Mill Valley Chamber.
Historic Family Businesses
We’re spotlighting a trio of businesses whose deep roots and committed engagement here have woven them into the fabric of our community: La Ginestra, Piazza D’Angelo and Malugani Tire.
Health & Wellness
Every month offers a chance to get your body right. But the dawn of a new year tends to inject a shot of inspiration to most of us looking to shed a few pounds, recapture the zest for exercise or set a new personal best in your sport of choice. Few Bay Area towns have more businesses per capita equipped to help you do so than Mill Valley, and we’re highlighting three of them here: Fitwise Pilates, SF Running Co. and Body Kinetics Health Club.
Night Time Is the Right Time
We highlight three places to shake off a long week, literally and figuratively. We visit with Chris Wanner, owner of West Coast Wine • Cheese, then head to Bungalow 44, where the happy hour is one of the best in Marin, and then we to the legendary Sweetwater Music Hall to dance the night away.
Mill Valley Lumber Yard
We’re spotlighting the Mill Valley Lumber Yard and the array of innovative retail shops, restaurants, makers and creators at this gorgeously restored historic property dating back to 1892.
