They’re back at it again on Sunday, October 29th at O’Hanlon to “Celebrate the Brevity of Life, Honoring those who have passed and Embracing Change,” according to the organizers. Gather at 4pm. Show at 5pm. $15. Doors open open at 4:30pm. Show begins at 5pm. $15. Expect music, poetry, storytelling, videos and much more.

The title of the exhibition, whose medium acrylic on canvas, is “My Community – portraits of teachers, coaches, friends, parents and other members of the community that the student wished to recognize.”

For her current exhibit, āMill Valley,ā Barrengos “celebrates a town where you can stumble out the front door, head off in any direction, and find beauty.Ā The work isĀ purposefully simplified and fantastical, painted with acrylic on linen in a 20×16-inch vertical format.Ā This consistency and directness underscores how remarkable this town is.”

Nominations for the award are now open. The nomination form is available on the eventās website, and hard-copy forms are available at Mill Valley City Hall, Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Mill Valley Library. Nominations made before the event was suspended in 2020 will remain in force.

The event boasts an excellent slate of performers, including music from the likes of Kurt Hugel, Tim Ryan, Daniel Patrick, Diana Gat Cantania Alexia Ulbinsky and Caylia Chaikin, along with poetry from Suz Lipman, storytelling from Sheri Williamson and Ginnie Job, tango dancing from Aldo Zamudio and partner and Chipps Barsky with the Art of the Valentine.
