From Pam Keon and All the Amazing People Who Took on the Herculean Task of the 125th Celebration: Join the Dedication of the 125th Time Capsule ā Dec. 8th, 5pm at City Hall!
Pam Keon: On Monday, December 8th, I hope you can attend these events at Mill Valleyās City Hall. At 5pm we will dedicate the 2025 Mill Valley Time Capsule. This ceremony marks the celebration of Mill Valleyās 125th anniversary year with the placement of a time capsule capturing daily life in 2025 and documenting the three-day 125th Anniversary Celebration over Labor Day Weekend. The 2025 time capsule will be placed inside the 12+ ton red jasper boulder that sits in front of City Hall, and replaces the 1953 time capsule that was removed from the boulder earlier this year. The new time capsule is to be opened on September 1, 2100 ā so mark your calendars, or your childrenās or grandchildrenās calendars!

As so many of you already know, 2025 marks the 125th anniversary of Mill Valleyās incorporation, and recognition of this milestone will culminate with a full day of celebratory activities on Monday, September 1st. It’s going to be a, incredible day! It is incredibly important to celebrate all of the amazing people who have made this event happen ā the list is just about endless. A Huge Shout-Out to Our Fantastic Mill Valley Chamber Members! Cheers to all the Chamber members who are helping bring Mill Valleyās 125th Celebration to life on Labor Day, September 1st. But what was supposed to be a three-week pause on normal life to relieve crowded emergency rooms stretched to a months-long slog of restrictions that lasted into June 2021, six months after vaccines became available, with mask and vaccine mandates stretching well into 2022, longer than in other states. āThe later decisions about when and how to reopen,ā Cody conceded, āthose were much more complicated.ā Her former counterpart in Marin County, Dr. Matt Willis, went a step further. āA lot of our early thinking was organized almost purely around preventing transmission,ā said Willis, who retired last year. āBut I think we could have been more tolerant of certain forms of gatherings earlier on if we had recognized the benefits of those things.ā

No matter the time of year, Mill Valley is buzzing with activity. The small, yet vibrant town is a paradise for artsy souls, from film fanatics to theater lovers. In fact, the town hosts an array of annual artsy events like the Mill Valley Film Festival. Taking place each October, this 11-day event draws in thousands of cinephiles, screening creations from over 200 filmmakers in the town’s local theaters. Furthermore, if you visit during the summer, you can catch the Mountain Play, anĀ outdoor musical production put on by the local theater troupe. This annual play is set on the Cushing Memorial Amphitheater stage against a breathtaking mountain backdrop.

A research team from the University of Oxford then compiled all 215,801 responses into a map of the state, broken down by county.
