By Choosing to Realign From Primary to 2024 General Election, Councilmembers Garner Term Extensions
The decision creates an eight-month term extension for Carmel, who was elected for a four-year term in March 2020, and Councilmember Caroline Joachim, elected to a one-year short-term seat in March of this year. Joachim succeeded Sashi Sabaratnam, who resigned to move out of the city.

When stores are not willing to sign a citizenās arrest form, it presents a challenge because of a legal requirement that bars officers from making an arrest for a misdemeanor crime that occurred outside their presence, Mill Valley police Lt. Shaun McCracken told the IJ. The law also requires victims to identify the suspect and request a citizenās arrest for the violation, he said.
