Mill Valley Library Foundation Launches Annual Year-End AppealToasts More Than $1 Million in Grants to the MV Public Library since 2011
Your support helps make it possible for the Mill Valley Public Library to increase access for all by offering a wide range of free programs and services such as WiFi in the Plaza, ‘Tech to Go’, expanded digital content and streaming services, and both in-person and virtual programs for kids, teens, and adults.

With the grateful support of our partners at Mill Valley Recreations’ Mill Valley Community Center, the second half of our two-part Winterfest will feature another fantastic lineup of singers, dancers and musicians to perform from 12-4pm, along with great activities, Cousin’s Maine Lobster and Hopmonk food trucks, a beverage program for adults and kiddos alike, and much more. Performers on 12/17include the one and only Millbillies, Sweaty Baby, Marin Conservatory of Dance, Rock the Ages, Ellie McKee and Roco Dance & Fitness.

On the Downtown Plaza on Sunday, Dec. 3, we’ll have yet another fantastic lineup of singers, dancers and musicians to perform from approximately 5-6pm. Two weeks later at the Community Center, we’ll have another lineup of great performances, great activities, food trucks, a beverage program for adults and kiddos alike, and much more.

The founders of the popular Marine Layer clothing brand initially saw the building as a possible retail concept, but pivoted after learning of the significant aforementioned obstacles they saw as untenable. Instead, they chose a concept that has garnered excitement in cities and towns across the U.S. that look to create gathering spaces for communities wanting reconnection after the years of pandemic disruption. A “recurring revenue” model is important for a very large space with little curb appeal.

Ultimately, staff and the two councilmembers “determined that the proposed location at City Hall is not feasible,” Cusimano said. “The size and scale of the locomotive is too massive for the location, and staff is concerned about the impact of the locomotive’s weight on the roots of the Deodar Cedar. There are additional concerns regarding accessibility, safety measures, insurance coverage and legal liability.”
