Mill Valley Parks & Rec and Donors Are Set to Move Forward With a Long-Sought Pair of Sand Volleyball Courts Near Bayfront Field!
“This has been an idea that’s been going on for many many years and there’s been stops and starts to it. And some of that is because this is a pretty major construction project,” said Vanessa Justice, whose term on the Mill Valley Parks and Recreation Commission recently ended. In Mill Valley, hundreds of youths play the sport in clubs and programs. For years, enthusiasts have set up makeshift nets and courts on the city’s hockey fields on Sunday, when those fields are closed to organized sports, Justice said.

The big update for MVMF audiophiles is that local sound company ESP Audio brings custom d&b D&B Audiotechnik’s rig each year, and captains the helm. D&B just released a cutting edge new concert rig, and Nils Erickson, the owner of ESP, is debuting it at the MVMF this year. In addition to updated drivers and components, the new D&B Model creates a pocket of quiet on the stage where the monitor engineer and the band have more control of the stage sound levels to hone their craft. “Our artists are in for an unparalleled stage experience this year!” Erickson says. All of this amounts to improved sound quality, less power consumption, and new sound field technology to bleed less off the main PA onto the stage, giving the band a better experience on the stage to hone their craft.

The parade starts with the very special Veterans Ceremony, which includes the student K-8 essay contest “What does Memorial Day mean to me,” beginning at 9:45 am at Lytton Square, followed by the parade at 10:30 am. The I Love a Parade committee, Larry ‘The Hat’ Lautzker, Paul Moe, and Clifford Waldeck invite you to get together with your neighbors and friends or support local organizations and create wondrous floats. Enter your Classic Car, bring your pet kangaroo, and get creative!
