Our First Tuesday Artwalk Artist is Beth Davila Waldman! She’ll Show Her Work on Oct. 7th from 5:30-7:30pm and Throughout the full Month of October. Her Show Is Entitled: ‘Desert Intersections’!
Beth Davila Waldman is a cross-disciplinary artist using photography, painting, assemblage and installation. Her work explores the impact of socio-political trends on cultural landscapes, often through imagery laden with indicators of economic and social status, presented in a manner that emulates the sheer stress of imposed change. Waldman’s constructed vistas re-conceive the notion of sanctuary amidst the realities of colonization, and invite meditations on civil access. Waldman imbues her work with a unique materiality by printing or transferring photographs on a plethora of materials—from tarp to sails, canvas to paper.

Jay Tamang, a Longtime Whole Foods Employee and Multi-Talented Photographer, Continues to Show His Dazzling Work – This Time at Engel & Völker at 78 East Blithedale Ave, Mill Valley, Nov. 4th, 5:30 – 7:30pm
In the years since Jay Tamang, a longtime employee at Whole Foods Market on East Blithedale, left his native Nepal in 2004, his thoughts have rarely strayed from his home country. Tamang, who spent years there earning $2/day as a trekking guide in Katmandu before eventually moving to the United States with his wife Biba and their children, has maintained strong ties in Nepal, regularly visiting and donating his time and money to lift his former friends, family and neighbors. That was never more true than in April 2015 in the aftermath of the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal, which sent Tamang and his family reeling. Tamang’s been an avid photographer for years, and he continues to showcase his work at venues all over town, including at Engel & Volkers.
