The event, created in 1995 by Piazza D’Angelo owners Domenico and Paolo Petrone, is produced by the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center with the help of a plethora of sponsors and partners. It had a little something for everyone and has grown to become the winter complement to Mill Valley’s other hallmark event, the Memorial Day Parade and and post-parade Kiddo! Carnival, Concert and Community Celebration.
The day kicked off with the arrival of three trucks carrying 80 tons of snow from the Lake Tahoe area, and ended with Mayor Ken Wachtel and his fellow City Councilmembers leading the countdown for the Tree Lighting Ceremony, with a bevy of sledding, singing, dancing and eating in between.
