The event, set for Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Throckmorton Theatre, “brings together literary luminaries and musical all-stars in a captivating, rollicking, thought-provoking performance to raise funds for the Mill Valley Library.” Over the years, the Beyond the Book Bash has garnered a reputation for drawing an eclectic array of performances from writers and musicians against a culinary backdrop of food and drinks from local restaurants, breweries and wineries.
This year’s edition features performances by comedian/MC Marga Gomez, author Tom Barbash, arist/illustrator Todd Pound, The Serial: A Year in the Life of Marin County author Cyra McFadden, author and Wired magazine contributor editor Joshua Davis, poets Jane Hirshfield and Tongo Eisen-Martin and musician/film composer Zak Moses Ostroff.
The fundraiser, which begins at 7pm and also includes a pre-event VIP pre-party at Seager Gray Gallery with West Coast Wine · Cheese, includes cocktails, bites, and much more. Tickets are still on sale.
In years past, the event has raised upwards of $125,000 to support the library’s programs and services.
