More than 850 wine, beer and gourmet food lovers bought tickets to May 31st event – the most in the history of the landmark local event – and sampled from more than 60 wineries, 11 breweries, 30 gourmet food providers, 12 local restaurants.

It’s not easy for a 34-year-old event to get better and more popular with age. But under sunny skies on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the Annual Mill Valley Wine, Beer and Gourmet Food Tasting did just that, drawing the biggest crowd in its storied history.

The 2015 edition of one of Mill Valley’s iconic local events drew more than 850 paid attendees to the Downtown Plaza on May 31, with more than 1,000 people packing onto the plaza including volunteers and vendors. Founded in 1981 by the Canepa family, which owns Mill Valley Market, this special North Bay event continues to bring together all the best aspects of California living into one exciting afternoon set against the backdrop of beautiful Mill Valley.

The appeal of the 34th annual edition of the event was clear: wine from more than 60 premium wineries, fine craft beers from 11 breweries and food from nearly 30 gourmet food purveyors, as well as 12 of the best restaurants in the North Bay, let alone in the 94941.

“We’re absolutely thrilled at the turnout for this fantastic community event,” said Paula Reynolds, co-director of the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce, which manages the event and is one of its beneficiaries, along with Kiddo!, the non-profit Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation. “We are so grateful to the sponsors who helped make it happen, particularly the Canepa family, which has played such an incredible role in the event’s success o ver the years. Thanks also to the amazing wineries, breweries, gourmet food providers and 12 great local restaurants that attracted so many food and drink lovers, and to Steven Restivo Event Services for putting on such a well-organized, popular event.”

The event benefited greatly from sponsorship and support from Mill Valley Market, Bradley Real Estate, PG&E, Bank of Marin, Fiat, Mill Valley Refuse, Kiddo!, the City of Mill Valley, US Bank, the Marin Independent Journal, Marinscope Newspapers and Yelp. And back by popular demand, the event also featured complimentary valet bicycle parking, provided by the Marin County Bicycle Coalition and sponsored by Tam Bikes in Mill Valley.
