Disproportionate.

It is one of the words government and public health officials have used most when discussing the destructive impacts of the COVID-19 crisis over the past 18 months. Those discussions have been largely fueled by the long overdue national conversations we’ve been having about systemic, racial inequities in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd and way too many others .

At a virtual Outdoor Art Club event on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 1pm via Zoom, Dr. Elizabeth Horevitz, the Chief Behavioral Health Officer at Marin Community Clinics, will discuss how the intersection of income inequality, health disparities, and the COVID-19 pandemic has created a disproportionate toll on the mental health of Marin’s Latinx immigrant community.

In a free talk entitled, “Mental Health and the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Tale of Two Marins,” Horevitz will share stories of risk and resilience, and outline a path forward for eliminating Marin’s pervasive health and mental health inequities that were laid bare by the pandemic. This event will be hosted on Zoom.
