https://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/The return of the massive Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival is always a massive lift for music lovers all over the Bay Area, particularly with a lineup that once again leans heavily on its ‘hardly strictly’ mantra and has booked an array of bands across the musical landscape. Organizers of the event, as usual, are making sure that the event benefits the larger Bay Area community, and is doing so by continuing its “Hardly Strictly Out of the Park,” a series of nighttime live performances at a handful of venues around town, including a quartet of shows at our own venerable Sweetwater Music Hall.

The Redwoods’ Annual Bazaar Pop-Up Boutique Returns to Support Programs and Activities – Oct. 18-19
One of the Redwoods, Mill Valley’s Community of Seniors’ most cherished events returned last year after a four-year hiatus. The Annual Bazaar is back in full force again in 2024, with dates set for Friday, October 18th (10am-3pm) and Sunday, October 19 (10am-3pm). The Bazaar is a resident-sponsored fundraiser that supports their programs and activities. The resident-sponsored fundraiser supports Redwoods programs and activities. In the Boutique, visitors can expect to find vintage clothing, framed works of art, and many exceptional items. Available in other locations are china, glassware, knitwear, books, electronic devices, succulents, baked goods, and more treasures.

On Sunday, November 10 in Tiburon, Westminster Events will host an inspiring presentation by Sidharth Madhavan, a USC-Buck PhD Fellow from the renowned Buck Institute. His talk, The Science Behind Living Better Longer, will dive into how exercise and fasting can unlock powerful metabolites that may lower the risk of dementia.
The 2024 Milley Awards Grow Near! Seven Mill Valleyans Will Be Honored at the Mill Valley Community Center – Oct. 27th
Seven accomplished Mill Valley residents will be honored at an elegant program and buffet supper from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 27 at the Mill Valley Community Center. The six will receive bronze statuettes designed by the late sculptor John Libberton. Mill Valley is the only city in Marin County that officially recognizes the talents and achievements of people in the arts.
Scop Family’s Chabad Mill Valley, Throws a Shofar in the Park Event in Old Mill Park – Oct. 3rd, Old Mill Park
Chabad Mill Valley, the local chapter of one of the largest Hasidic groups and Jewish religious organizations in the world, has been in Mill Valley for nearly 20 years. Chabad Mill Valley founders Rabbi Hillel and Chana Scop have another reason to celebrate. They’re hosting Shofar in the park with a Tashlich ceremony at Old Mill Park. Meet at the Amphitheater. “Join us to hear the sounding of the Shofar on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, followed by Tashlich!” says Chana Scop. “Adults and children of all ages are welcome.”
