Chris Lundy Nails a Trifecta With Third Dipsea Victory! Congrats to all Dipsea Finishers!
At age 53, Chris Lundy, who boasts the best actual time for the past two years, and who had already won the race twice and owns a record nine Women’s Best Time trophies, won the 2024 Dipsea Race with a time of 48:10. Her actual time was 1:03:09.35. Clara Peterson finished second, followed by Julia Maxwell Bailey. Darrin Banks, 58, placed third. Dominic Vogl was fifth. Eddie Owens was 6th. Diana Fitzpatrick was 7th. Mark Tatum was 8th, Buzz Burrell, 72 was 10th. In 2018, for the 108th Dipsea Race, Lundy outlasted Alex Varner of San Rafael and his then-record-tying performance. “But this one was more enjoyable,” said a smiling Lundy at the time, having suffered a torn left knee ligament near the finish the prior year.

Goldberg’s creativity never ceases. This week, they opened for lunch and “we really feel that doing grab and go is really missing on the street,” she says. “We’ll have slices and salads, quick and accessible at reasonable prices for the first week,” she says. “It will all be free. Our hours are going to be lunch until it’s gone, and of course you can still sit down and order a glass of wine and have your pizza alfresco and any of our favorite, but we wanted to fill a void on the street, which is slices, healthy salads, quickly – “Tpie On the Fly.”
“It’s Just Hard to Get Hit With”: Council Unanimously Approves a Waste Collection Hike of 8.26%, Among the Highest in Southern Marin
Gene Della Zoppa, CEO of Mill Valley Refuse Service, said the rate increase is due to the current economy. Della Zoppa said for the years 2022 to 2024, the company had an average rate increase of 4.25%. “Other cities across the Unites States are also seeing increases related to solid waste collection,” Della Zoppa said. Additionally, he said some of the biggest costs are labor, disposal costs, workers compensation, and insurance. A union contract negotiated last year resulted in a 15% hourly wage increase for drivers, and this year the drivers’ get a 5.5% increase.”

Fred Huxham, 28 Huxham is one of fewer than 10 Marin athletes ever to win a California State track title, in the 3,200 meters while at Redwood High. 11. Don Stewart, 63 Stewart was eighth place in 2011. 12. Buzz Burrell, 72.
