Mill Valley Celebrates 125 – Save the Date for the 125th Anniversary Celebration!!
Our intent for the celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Incorporation of the City of Mill Valley is to bring our community together for a common awareness and commitment to this special town and surrounding community. As part of that effort, the Mill Valley 125th Anniversary Committee is sponsoring a series of articles by noted local historian and author Joyce Kleiner. These articles are intended to foster understanding, and pride, in Mill Valley’s history, and will focus on some of the people and events that shaped Mill Valley’s spirit of stewardship, volunteerism, and community involvement. Our efforts will culminate in a wide range events on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2025, including an historically-themed parade, live music, an ice cream social, screenings of historical videos, and tours of the Old Mill.

After four wonderful years at this location, the time has come for a new chapter. I’m retiring this space and moving on to pursue new projects and passions. To those we’ve had the joy of helping and inspiring through our unique pieces and finds—thank you. Your support has meant everything. It’s been an honor to have a little part of me and the furnishings I’ve loved become part of your homes, your families, and your lives. I’ve truly had a wonderful time. I’m excited to share that I’ve sold the business to another passionate entrepreneur, Debbie, who will carry on the spirit of what we’ve built. She’ll be expanding the offerings with additional services such as interior design, design-and-build solutions, and upholstery work.

SF Chronicle: Mill Valley Film Festival Undergoing Change at the Top as Festival Director of Programming Zoë Elton, Has Announced She is Transitioning to a Part-Time Role With the Festival
“The work that we do is absolutely amazing, but the extensiveness of the work and the pressure of the work, it never goes away,” Elton said. “I can’t remember the last time I had an actual vacation. We’re always working. So, as rewarding as it can be, I’d like to relieve the pressure a little bit.” Elton’s said her new role will be “curatorial.”

Marin IJ on the 114th Dipsea Race: On the Heels of Chris Lundy’s Trifecta in 2024, Tiburon’s MacLean Makes History With First Win – Congrats to all Dipsea Finishers!
Her sneakers show the miles, but they held up long enough to carry Audrey MacLean to her first Dipsea victory on Sunday morning. With bloody knees and aching feet, MacLean removed her shoes and socks at the aid station after crossing the finish line, but made sure not to lose track of them. “They’re the same shoes I wore in my junior year in high school,” the Redwood High grad said, recalling the 2021 season when she placed 16th at the CIF State Cross Country Division II Championship. On Sunday, Tiburon’s MacLean, 19, crossed the finish line at Stinson Beach to win the 114th Dipsea and made history in the process. She became the first female runner between the ages of 10 and 33 to win the Dipsea — famous for its handicapping system, which has produced a mix of younger and older winners.

Plus, the comedy and the terror both come from an unlikely and provocative source — ‘workplace culture,’ including identity-based violence. … The nightmare scenario Sofia finds herself in is the experience of many people who find themselves victims of workplace hostility and harassment.”
