Pardon the Interruption Brings High-Energy New Wave and Prog-Pop to Sweetwater Music Hall on June 5th with Ska/Soul Favorites Jethro Jeremiah Band

Blending New Wave nostalgia with prog-pop punch, Pardon The Interruption (PTI) returns to Sweetwater Music Hall for a high-energy set guaranteed to get Mill Valley moving. Led by guitarist and vocalist David Noble—whose credits range from Wreckless Strangers to Nina Hagen—PTI draws from funk, ska, jam and vintage rock to deliver a sound that’s both retro-chic and totally its own. The band features a killer lineup of NorCal session talent including bassist Rob Fordyce, drummer Rob Hooper and sax maven Jamison Smeltz. The Redwoods, A Community of Seniors, is hosting a fun-filled afternoon on Sunday, May 18th at 3pm. And here’s a bonus: Kids 12 and under get in for free — so it’s a great event for the whole family! Co-chairs Caroline Joachim and Wendy Nichols invite you to join us for a family “fun-raiser” in the garden with live music from Susan Z and The Winding Road, and The Redwoods’ own Rock the Ages choir. We’ll have delicious fare that all ages will enjoy from Stacey Scott Catering, with signature cocktails, beer, wine and lemonade, as well as activities for kids and adults, including cornhole, foosball, a photo booth, face painting, and balloon art.

The wait is over— Woander Store has officially opened its doors! Woander is a family play store featuring family friendly games and storytelling products that opened in downtown Mill Valley at 73 Throckmorton on April 19th! Lots of supporters and on-lookers celebrated the event with a ribbon cutting ceremony, with lots of fun and magic all afternoon. There was a live magic show, open gameplay, puppet greeters and a puppet making activity. There is so much more to come!

Mill Valley Parks & Rec and Donors Are Set to Move Forward With a Long-Sought Pair of Sand Volleyball Courts Near Bayfront Field!

“This has been an idea that’s been going on for many many years and there’s been stops and starts to it. And some of that is because this is a pretty major construction project,” said Vanessa Justice, whose term on the Mill Valley Parks and Recreation Commission recently ended. In Mill Valley, hundreds of youths play the sport in clubs and programs. For years, enthusiasts have set up makeshift nets and courts on the city’s hockey fields on Sunday, when those fields are closed to organized sports, Justice said.
