Mt. Tamalpais United Methodist Church Ramps Up a Series of Events, Including Holy Week, Easter Sunday, Bible School, Palm Sunday Worship, Good Friday and More!
Spring and Summer Calendar for Mt. Tam Church. Holy Week, Easter Sunday, Mayor Meet-and-Greet and Vacation Bible School! Mt. Tam Church is gearing up for our spring and summer activities to which the entire community is invited. The first is Holy Week in April including our Easter worship service and children’s egg hunt: Palm Sunday Worship – Sunday, April 13th, 10:30am. Celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem with palms, praise, and joyful worship. Maundy Thursday Service – Thursday, April 17th, 6:30pm. A reflective evening of scripture, meditation, and Holy Communion as we remember Jesus’ last supper. Good Friday – Friday, April 18th, 9am-4pm. The sanctuary will be open for self-guided prayer. Come anytime for quiet reflection and spiritual renewal.

The Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade is right around the corner! The Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade (check out the website) Mill Valley’s biggest annual event is Monday, May 26, 2025. The parade starts with the very special Veterans Ceremony, which includes the student K-8 essay contest “What does Memorial Day mean to me,” beginning at 9:45 am at Lytton Square, followed by the parade at 10:30 am. The I Love a Parade committee, Larry ‘The Hat’ Lautzker, Paul Moe, and Clifford Waldeck invite you to get together with your neighbors and friends or support local organizations and create wondrous floats. Enter your Classic Car, bring your pet kangaroo, and get creative! We’re returning the glory days of Mill Valley Parades, Color Guard, Great floats, Dogs marching, and Classic Cars, with trophies for best in all (see entry form) categories.

With very heavy hearts, we announce the tragic loss of our brother and dear friend, Sean McGrew. Sean passed away suddenly, tragically, but peacefully on Friday, February 28th. Sean was born and raised in San Francisco and had long career in Recreation and Parks. Contributions are much appreciated and will go towards Memorial Benches in both San Francisco and Mill Valley.

Tam Church are invited to engage with Mayor Stephen Burke as he shares City Council’s visions and plans for the city in the years ahead. This event takes place at noon in the church sanctuary. Mayor Burke will highlight the city’s next steps, following the passage of the Measure L sales tax, for infrastructure maintenance and enhancements, fiscal sustainability, and emergency preparedness. He will also address land use and affordable housing challenges, business and cultural vitality initiatives, the critical importance of public/private partnerships, community engagement, and Mill Valley’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. A delicious pizza lunch will be provided prior to the meet and greet ā suggested donation for lunch but all invited to dine regardless of ability to pay.

This country has dominated the world of news and information by respecting not just the precious freedom of the press but also its right to protect its work. Had it not done so, there would have been no economic base on which to build the kinds of news organizations that can, and still do, keep a check on the government. Heck, there would have been no economic basis to build anything creative whatsoever. Securing permission from, and fairly compensating, those publishers who created this great foundation of knowledge is the right, just and American thing to do. The government should reject these self-serving proposals and protect the work of artists, authors, photographers, journalists and all other creators and copyright holders who have been the victims of these companies.
